Wordless Wednesday: Rufous with hibiscus

  1. Gorgeous capture! I've seen only one Rufous at my feeder. I've noticed there has been a lot of RRT females lately.

    1. I currently have at least three (I think - they are hard to count) Rufous Hummers and still a few Ruby-throated females and juveniles passing through. The backyard is very busy with hummer activity. Great fun!

    2. The Rufous hummers have pretty much taken over my backyard now, although I do still have some RTHs passing through.

  3. Wonderful photos Dorothy! Our hummers seem to have all moved on now. We just get RTH's though, I've never seen a Rufous.

    1. Rufous Hummers are definitely expanding their winter range into our area. It is only for the last two winters that I've had them in my yard and it looks like I may have them again.
