To be honest, I'm not sure what attracts them, Jayne. I don't do anything in particular other than plant and care for my garden to make it "homey" for all birds. Some years my yard is overrun with robins and some years I hardly see any. This has been a good winter for them.
I think they've been seen in many areas where they don't normally occur in winter, troutbirder, and all because of the extremely mild winter throughout the continent.
How pretty! I've never seen one in San Antonio.

DeleteI saw five yesterday along a creek. I'm sure they managed to overwinter here this year as it was unusually mild.
