So cute. I actually saw a male downy this morning in my backyard. I rarely see them, but when I do, it is exciting:)
I think they are definitely the cutest of all the woodpeckers, Steph. It's always a joy to have them in the yard.
I love the downy woodpeckers. We quite often have two of them cruising the pine tree for bugs and such.
They usually travel in pairs, Jayne, and there was a male along with this girl, but I could never get him to sit still long enough for a picture.
